“Live It to Believe It” is the name of the Mexico
Tourism Board’s new campaign to attract tourists to Mexico. It doesn’t take a
marketing campaign to get me back to San Miguel. The wind chill in Chicago is
25 below today.
Sometimes when I go back to the states, I forget how complex
Mexico is. Or is it the other way around and the states are full of twists and
turns and Mexico is uncomplicated and easy?
When you go around a corner in San Miguel, you are often
placed square in the eye of a totally unexpected and new adventure. I can’t
resist the journey after a six month audition.
Suddenly I’ve embraced the pure and simple after
twenty-five years in Sweet Home Chicago but the thought of not being here for
over a year makes me homesick…except for today.
I’ll be on a food chase that merits watching as Oaxaca,
the food capital of Mexico, will be my first stop after a six week stay in San
Miguel.
Stay tuned.
Happy Holidays and Bon Appetit!
