Mexican food is more than margaritas and moles. I really
didn’t appreciate it until I came back as a foodie and discovered just how
complex the cuisine here really is. What’s amazing to me is that I didn’t find
out about Mixiotes until this past week. But then, I’ve never been to Hidalgo. It’s
also what motivated me to go on the road again.
Mexico is a place where 1,000 year old traditions survive alongside epicurean, cutting-edge trends that are Mexico City and its second largest city Guadalajara. I am headed to both. The diversity of the food markets alone will keep me busy. Hopefully I’ll leave with a better insight of why I loved my past connection with both cities.
You are what you eat so stay tuned. Can you guess what's on the menu?
Buen Apetito!
