As
the story goes, by hanging out Tibetan prayer
flags in high places, the Lung ta will carry the blessings depicted on
the flags to everyone.
So,
if this is true, I’ve just created a new prayer flag: The Sun.
I’m
so ready for the restaurant patios to open up again and the heirloom tomatoes
to surface at Green City Market. I’m
sick of winter and quite frankly in Chicago, it just started.
I’ve heard there are days where it is considered extremely bad
luck to hang prayer flags. They say the 10th and 22nd of the first, fifth and
ninth months of each lunar year; the 7th and 19th of the second, sixth and
tenth months; the 4th and 16th of the third, seventh and eleventh months; and
the 1st and 13th of the fourth, eighth and twelfth months.
Wow - too many days for me to ever remember so I’m just hanging
out my flag and praying for a mega-dose of sun.
Bon Appetit!
