I popped in the Market House ( 655
Forest Ave, Lake Forest) today
for the first time since it changed hands to have a quick salad. To my surprise, this was one
of the best salads I’ve had in a long time.
Executive
Chef Dominic Zumpano created his own magical take on the classic wedge and combined
lettuce with a simple blue cheese dressing and huge chunks of blue cheese, candied
bacon and tiny, fresh tomatoes. Yes, this wedge is now my new favorite.
I
created the same stunning salad in my kitchen tonight.
What
was so different about this wedge? Using a lettuce other than iceberg was something
I would have never tried.
Don’t
you love a chef who gets you thinking about the never-ending possibilities...which is one of the many reasons I go out to eat in
the first place.
