See if you can strike XOCO at a better time than I did and move quickly for a place in the corner next to the window and you will have it made.
There is room for only 40 people in this place and there were a lot more than that in line outside the door. I will not even mention what the line INSIDE the door looked like.
I took these photos in a blacked corner which was the only seat available in the house. Lucky for me I shared this gloomy little spot with another foodie from DC who ordered the same thing I did – The Ahogada - a golden pork carnitas, black beans, tomato broth, spicy arbol chile sauce, pickled onions. It was better than good!
At 449 North Clark Street – come early or come really late…After 3:00 PM and you’ll get in on the Caldos.
Bon Appetit!
