What's Inside My Bento Box?

For anyone on a diet, the Bento Box is the ultimate form of portion control.

Personally, I bought a Bento Box because I love it’s artistic way to present food. After all, we eat with our eyes as much as we do with our taste buds. When you put anything in a Bento Box it looks great.

It’s origins however can be traced back to a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. Imagine being a school kid and opening your lunch box and seeing this? BINGO!

Here is what is in my Bento Box:
Vegetable Spring Roll – with a combination sweet and sour and mild mustard sauce.

Pot Sticker – just one and it was a really great filler.

Peanut Sesame Noodles – crushed peanuts, black sesame seeds, peanut sauce, green onions, thin ramen noodles.

Steamed Spinach Gomaee – A PERFET blend of carrot matchstick slices, black and white sesame seeds, and rice wine vinegar.

Chicken Salad with white ginger dressing – cucumber, cherry tomato, bean sprouts, carrot matchstick slivers, chicken, red cabbage, tortilla crisps, and romaine lettuce.

I got a little taste of a lot of things and it was perfect…and so filling I could not eat dinner.

Bon Appetit!
